Tiny Dancer

Bryanna & Gracie had their first dance class this afternoon.

Can you tell she's excited?

A ballet/tap class consisting of eight tutu clad 3 & 4 yr olds - too cute! (Bryanna & Gracie are the two with ribbons.)

I was a bit worried about how well Bryanna would listen and follow direction, especially since she played shy and didn't want to go in the room alone, but she clearly did just fine.

The only disappointment was that we could only watch through the door, though Austin & Cameron were quite content to sit in the waiting room and munch on timbits. Bryanna was pretty quiet after class, and it wasn't until I asked her how she liked her class that she hung her head and pouted: "Fine, but I didn`t get a trophy"! I'm not sure where she got that idea, but she perked right up when I told her she'd get to go again next week. Her new favorite day of the week is Friday!

Park Day

Steve & Cassie's Wedding

My cousin Steve was married on Saturday to his long-time girlfriend Cassie. We left the kids with a sitter (HUGE thanks Jody & Tim!) and had a fantastic date night. The weather started out rainy, but cleared just in time for the outdoor ceremony. There was a bit of time between the ceremony & dinner, so we and our table mates (Jenn & Matt) took off outside for some nice couple pics. Tim & Yuli happened to have just finished taking pictures with the wedding party so they joined our mini party:

The Guys

The Gals

The Couples:

Princess Hailey

I wish I had the chance to get pictures of my Mom & Dad, and the other couples, but by the time we got back in it was time for dinner.

We had a great night, until we got back to the van and noticed a completely flat tire (as in popped right off the rim). Thankfully, my Dad & Uncle Chris were still there to light the way and help fix us up.

Everyone looked great, the hall was beautifully decorated and the dinner was good.
Congrats Steve & Cassie & Thanks for a great time!

Falling into Fall

We spent the last two weeks of summer vacation quarantined and nursing chicken pox (hence the lack of recent posts). Austin and Bryanna were pretty resilient but Cameron had a fever for almost a whole week. Luckily, the pox didn't seem to bother him - he was just super cuddly and would cry if I put him down for even just a few seconds.

I also had not one but two curriculum to set up. That's right - Austin has started SK, and Bryanna JK! We decided to homeschool again this year, and in addition to their phonics and math lessons I've added a geography program we can all do together. Austin will also be doing science with Aunt Patti-Lynn, and Bryanna is starting dance lessons this week. I was really pleased with how well Austin did last year with reading & writing and plan to use most of the same material for Bryanna.

We're really looking forward to this school year, I'll check in again once we've had a few weeks under us.
